In a major boost to Graphic Era’s ambition to become a centre-of-excellence for higher education in India, Graphic Era Deemed to be University (GEU) has been granted accreditation for its Master of Business Administration (MBA) Program by National Board of Accreditation (NBA).
For those who don’t know, NBA is the highest government body in India that assesses and ensures that the university and its programs match the stringent educational norms and standards and are at par with the best international practices. Notably, MBA is GEU’s seventh NBA accredited program after Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Biotechnology, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Electrical Engineering in 2022.
It will not be an overstatement to say that Graphic Era Deemed to be University is registering an exponential growth. In the 14 years of its existence, GEU has secured position in NIRF’s top 74 universities, Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements (ARIIA) and Time Higher Education World Ranking 2023 (Global Rank Band 601-800), bagged NAAC ‘A+’ Grade and Diamond Category rating by QS I-Gauge and set many benchmarks for other higher educational institutes. The coveted NBA accreditation is the latest feather in its cap.
“Every year, thousands of students are drawn to the university’s state-of-the-art infrastructure, vibrant academic ambiance, high-calibre faculty, innovative pedagogy, outstanding placement, research ecosystem, and the impetus given to the extra-curricular activities. These strengths have reaped rewards in the accreditation process as well,” a university official said.
It is worth mentioning that GEU was the only university in Uttarakhand that was awarded NBA accreditation in three engineering disciplines- Computer Science Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Electronics and Communication Engineering, in 2018. In continuation of its legacy, GEU has become the only university in the region to have 7 NBA accredited programs this 2022 assessment season as well.
Prof. (Dr.) Kamal Ghanshala, Hon’ble Chancellor, GEU credited the milestone to all the stakeholders including students, faculty, alumni and staff members who contributed towards the mission and vision of Graphic Era. He also commented, “The NBA accreditation is a stamp of trust, a recognition of the university’s consistent and dedicated efforts towards upholding excellence in higher education. Our students will benefit immensely from it.”
It must be noted that NBA accredited degree holders have higher value in the job market in comparison to non-NBA accredited degree holders as it is an assurance of the highest quality of education at national and international level. NBA’s membership of the Washington Accord has ensured that the students pursuing NBA accredited Engineering and MBA program from Graphic Era Deemed to be University will be qualified to find employment, practice or pursue higher education in other member countries of the Washington Accord. In other words, NBA accreditation has facilitated transnational recognition of the leading university’s degrees and mobility of its graduates.
