A few months back, Intellectual Property Rights Cell and Department of Civil Engineering (GEHU) had organized three days Training Course on “Quality Control / Quality Assurance of Deep Foundation testing.”

Dr. CR Parthasarathy, the founder director of Sarathy Geotech & Engineering Services Pvt. Ltd. (SGES), who has more than 2 decades of Industrial experience in geotechnical Engineering and is also a recipient of ‘President Scout Award, 1986 had been invited with the aim of equipping the students with the technical know-how of the domain.

The event was a roaring success as the students not only gained valuable insights from industry expert but a few also secured job offers from the reputed firm. Four students particularly stood out and impressed the panel of dignitaries from SGES namely, Dr. CR Parthasarathy, Dr. Bhavesh Pandey (Senior Engineer), Mr. Satish Yarasi (Superintendent of Deep Foundation Testing) and Mr. Sumanth (Geotechnical Engineer) with their skills and inquisitiveness so much that they were offered the opportunity to work in the company during the training session. The bright lot of students consisted of Kajal Panwar, Prabhat Mistri, Karishma Sharma and Hunny Kumar.

While Kajal and Prabhat, final year students of B.Tech Civil Engineering, landed the roles of Engineer (Proposals & Contracts) and Site Engineer respectively with salary package of 3.52 lakh per annum, Karishma, final year student of diploma in civil engineering bagged the role of Trainee Engineer with salary package of 2.56 lakh per annum.

The company went an extra mile to hire Hunny Kumar, third-year B.Tech Civil Engineering student, who had also made a mark on the panel with his knowledge and competency. He received an on-the-job internship offer with a stipend of 2.5 lakh per annum.

The cherry on the top was the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Graphic Era Hill University (GEHU) and Sarathy Geotech & Engineering Services Pvt. Ltd. (SGES).

The recruitment of the students during the training session has again proved that GEHU focuses on grooming its students into industry-ready professionals and not just on producing graduates.
